Sulaiman Usman SAN was also educated at University of Liverpool, England from 2009 to 2012 where he obtained a Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) in International Business Law. At Liverpool he studied modules like Legal Methodology, Conflict of Laws in Business and Commerce, European Union Law, Internet Law, Law of World Trade Organisation, Banking Law, Corporate Governance, Company Law and conducted a dissertation.

He has recently attended following courses; “Crime, Justice and Society” 2015, University of Sheffield, England, United Kingdom, “How to succeed at writing applications” 22nd June 2015 – 12th July, 2015, a course on “Exploring English Language and Culture” with British Council: 22nd June 2015 – 2nd August, 2015, while at University of Birmingham, England, United Kingdom: “Cooperation in the contemporary World” 10th August, 2015 – 30th August, 2015 and a course on Counter Terrorism. Counter Violent Extremism and Counter insurgency at Nigeria Army Resource Centre, Asokoro in Abuja.

Sulaiman Usman was elected a Local Government Councilor in 1990, became Supervisory Councilor for Agriculture and Natural Resources Department, Kware Local Government in February 1991 and subsequently, the Speaker of Kware Local Government Council from June, 1990 to November, 1993 and became Special Adviser to the Government of Sokoto State on Legal Matters from 2003 – 2006. In 2005, whilst serving as Special Adviser to the Government of Sokoto State of Nigeria, he was appointed as a delegate to the National Political Reform Conference by the then President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo GCFR in 2005 and represented Sokoto State in that conference from February, 2005 to July, 2005. During the Conference period, he served in Judiciary and Legal Reforms Committee under Hon. Justice Bola Ajibola SAN and Abdullahi Ibrahim SAN, he also Legal Drafting Committee and Report Writing Committee of the Conference.

Sulaiman is also an Author having written Five Books so far, the books are; “Miscarriage of Justice” and “Elements of Local Government Administration in Nigeria”, “Nutshell Principles of Law and jurisprudence”; “Fair Trial and Jurisdiction of International Criminal Court” and a Book on Islamic Theology Titled “Allahu Ahad”.

Sulaiman Usman Esq, SAN has been in active legal practice for over 17 years which traverses both private legal practice and public legal service and have conducted cases in all the levels of Nigerian Courts both superior and inferior Court of Records. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of Nigeria in contested cases of legal significance in about 8 cases all of which have reported in several law reports.He has more than thirty contested cases of the Court of Appeal, in Abuja, Kaduna, Sokoto and Benin Divisions. He conducted over 40 contested cases of Federal High Courts, High Courts, Sharia Court of Appeal, National Industrial Court, and National Assembly and Governorship and Legislatives Houses Election Tribunal.He founded Gamzaki Law Chambers in 2002 which now have offices in Abuja and Sokoto. He was appointed a notary public for Nigeria by the Chief Justice of Nigeria in May, 2014 and now to the prestigious Rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the pinnacle of legal practice in Nigeria.

Sulaiman Usman Esq, SAN is currently the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice Sokoto State, Chairman, Sokoto State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy, Member, Body of Benchers’ Member Council of Legal Education and Member, Sokoto State Judicial Service Commission, Member Sokoto State Executive Council and Member, Governing Board of Sokoto State Bureau of Public Procurement and Private Partnership and Member Nigeria Army Resource Centre.
